SITE HISTORY
A Former Sawmill
Alfred Fortin was the first owner of the Thompson River ferry from 1935 to 1937, then of Dubuisson’s Fortin sawmill from 1937 to 1960 on the marina site. His son Jean worked for his father as a heavy machinery operator, setting up the Thompson marina in 1970.
